What to expect

The clinician assesses facial tissue, prior treatment and the areas to address.
Sculptra is prepared and placed in agreed areas. Massage and follow-up instructions are explained before you leave.

How it feels

Stinging injections and a feeling of pressure. Numbing may help; soreness can remain afterwards.

Downtime

Bruising, swelling and tenderness can remain for days, occasionally longer. The fullness from fluid and swelling settles before longer-term change can be assessed.

Results

When you might see a change. Change may become noticeable after about a month and builds over subsequent months.

How long it might last. Manufacturer studies report persistence up to two years in some participants. That is not a promise for your face or a reason to delay a review.

How often?

The manufacturer describes about 2–3 sessions over a few months, often at least 3–4 weeks apart. Your clinician may adjust the plan. Maintenance follows reassessment.

Before your appointment

Ask how many sessions and vials the quote covers.
Mention infection, allergies, scarring tendency and previous injectable treatments.

Aftercare

If prescribed, follow the demonstrated massage plan; manufacturer advice commonly uses five minutes, five times daily, for five days.
Report persistent lumps; seek urgent help for severe pain, pale/mottled skin or vision symptoms. Sudden vision loss needs 999.

Is it right for everyone?

Raised-scarring history, ingredient allergies and active skin infection can make it unsuitable. Safety is not established in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Delayed nodules and vascular complications are possible.
